Well, I am beginning to realize how tomorrow turn into two weeks or so! haha. I know a lot of you were very curious about how we FINALLY decided on a name for "brother". Even though he still gets called baby brother, he does have a name.
As many of you know, Randy and I seriously could NOT decide on a name. We weren't just saving the name till he was born, we honsetly couldn't decide. (Mom can vouch for me on that one) Madilynn REALLY wanted his name to be Austin, where she came up with that... I'm not sure. I really liked Hudson, Maddox, and Alex. Randy liked, Tate, Brock, and Randy.
Well, as I am in labor, Randy walks in.. So you like Myles? I said Yeah... and he says okay, that's going to be his name. I said no, no, no... we've made it this far, we aren't naming this child until he's born! That was pretty much the end of that.. He was born and it was like.. aww.. baby brother is here. When Madilynn saw him, she still insisted his name was Austin!
The first night, we were just typical parents, oohing and awing over him, not really thinking about the name game.
We had breakfast, and we were calmed down and Randy says okay, I've made a decision. We are going to let HIM pick his name. So, I said. fine. Sounds good. Randy gets some paper and says whats your favorite name? I said Hudson, so he begins to write it down. (You see where this is going, huh) The final names were, Hudson, Myles, Cannon, Camden, and Austin. He puts them all in his hat... Grabs baby brother and says, choose your name. Well, as many of you know the dexterity of a 12hour old baby isn't too good. So he plays around with that for a while, and he finally says.. Okay Mommy's going to choose your name. ( At this time we should have pulled a 3rd party in) Anyways, So all the names are folded up and I choose Hudson. Randy then begins to tell me that I somehow "cheated". So he holds the hat above my head and I choose Hudson AGAIN. He then tells me I cheated AGAIN. (And you probably see where this is going) I was getting frustrated and I liked all the names in the hat, So the third time I choose Myles. So Randy says well, Myles it is. (That was his first choice of the day)
I think we could have avoided the whole name game by him just saying, Andrea I really like Myles.. And I would have said Okay. Anyways, his middle name is Scott after Randy's brother that lives in Portland. He is an amazing person and I'm so glad that we decided to name him after his uncle.

The birth of "baby brother"
My good friend Elizabeth and many others have convinced me to start a blog, and I thought there
would be no better time to start than to blog about the birth of our newest addition to our family.
So, here it goes. J

Officially, we were suppose to expect “baby brother” on October 4, 2011. My doctor had told me that
since this was my second baby that he would see no problem in inducing at 39 weeks, which would
have been Sept. 27th. Once we heard that news, we thought there was no rush about him coming
even earlier than that. However, we were wrong.

Monday September 19th, Madilynn and I were at the commissary and I had a really dizzy/black out
spell . (Very scary) . I called my doctor and he advised me to go ahead and go to L&D since he was
headed that way anyways. They monitored me for about 3 hours and I was having steady
contractions 2-3 min apart and I was dilated to a 3. Doctor Foster told me to go home and rest, he
didn’t think the baby was coming in the next couple HOURS. This soon prompted Nana to go ahead
and come this way, since she didn’t want to miss the birth of her 2nd grandson.

All was good Tuesday and Wednesday. Nana came in Tuesday and Madilynn and I were able to show
her how to “drop off, and pick up” Madilynn from school, just in case. Thursday was doctors
appointment. I was feeling pretty good, got to the doctors office and had to wait an hour (of course).
However, I got to see the doctor, still having contractions he checked me and I was still a 3. I told
him I didn’t want to be the lady walking in to L&D at a 10, ready to push with no pain meds. He
laughed and said, me neither. (Mainly because he was suppose to be off this weekend) haha! He did
his doctor thing, checked my charts once again and in a laughingly voice he chuckles, Want to have
your baby today? (Glad they didn’t check my blood pressure at that moment) I laughed back and said
SURE!

So here we go…
Mom and I were prompted to go to Labor and Delivery immediately, do not go home, do not get
something to eat, straight to L&D. So… there we went! I got checked in and hooked up to the
monitors around 1:30. Randy was headed to the hospital, Madilynn was headed to a good friend of
mine’s house, Dana. Doctor Foster came in at 2:00 and said, lets do this! So he broke my water at
2:10. I was doing okay, having steady contractions on my own. I had to answer what seemed like a
million questions and finally around 3:00 they gave me an IV. I jokingly asked the nurse when I could
get my epidural? She laughed back and said let me know when you need it. About 30min into the
pitocin drip, I was calling for my epidural. She was able to give me some nubain until my bloodwork
came back at 4:00. Sure enough at 4:00 my bloodwork came back and I was cleared, good for my
epidural… I seriously thought they were NEVER going to get that in me. It took them FOREVER to get
that thing going and working. It was much more involved than I remember it being with Madilynn.
At 5:30 (Yes, an hr and a half later), I was comfortable. Mom was able to come back in the room and
I told Randy to go ahead and get something to eat, it may be a while. I was only dilated to a 6 and
thought okay, nap time! It wasn’t 10min later I was calling the nurse back in the room.. I was ready
to push!! Sure enough, she checked me a little before 6… I was fully dilated. I was trying to get a
hold of Randy… and I couldn’t. I thought great… this kid is down there chilling in the cafeteria, eating
cheeseburgers, not listening to his phone and he’s going to miss the birth of his son! Well, Good ol
Randy walks in about 6.. and I said.. Well, glad you could make it back.. we are about to have this
baby! They called Dr. Foster in around 6:15… After two sets of contractions and pushing… at 6:28pm…
There he was!! Welcome to the world “baby brother”! Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Dr. Foster, a nurse
and a tech were all there to welcome him here!

They held him up for me to get a look at him, and my first thought was, he’s not a huge, monster
baby like the doctors had said, and two… HE LOOKS JUST LIKE MADILYNN! They cleaned him up a
little and let us hold him for a few min. They brought the scales in and weighed him in front of me,
7lbs 14oz!

They then took him away to the nursery to finish his bath and to get all the measurements. Randy
as able to go in with him and Nana was taking pictures from the glass. I was left alone in my room,
until I heard little footsteps from a sweet BIG SISTER! Dana & James had brought Madilynn to meet
her baby brother. She was really excited, kind of nervous. She was worried that I was okay, and she
wanted to know if I was okay… She’s so sweet! They moved us to a different room… Madilynn got to
push him in his bassinet through the L&D floor, she told everyone she saw… This is MY baby! We
finally got all settled into our new (much smaller) mother and baby room. We posed for a quick
family picture, Madilynn got to hold him, and then her and Nana went back home. So there we were,
